The project includes a primary school, extracurricular facilities, preschool, and sports amenities in order to meet the future needs of a growing neighbourhood. The proposal offers a simple, geometric design that harmonises with its urban and natural surroundings. There are two main volumes connected at the ground level.
Gym activities are located in the western block, which acts as an acoustic barrier between the neighbourhood and Avenue du Léman. The central block includes daycare on the ground floor and 12 classrooms along with extracurricular activities on the upper levels, centred around an interior courtyard. The program is intuitively organised, making different areas easily identifiable.
Classrooms are flexible, light-filled spaces with views of the forest and mountains, encouraging diverse teaching methods. Each functional entity has an associated outdoor space tailored to its schedule.
Outdoor areas leverage natural features: a courtyard near Creux woods, a daycare play area in the district’s central pedestrian axis, an enclosed courtyard in the central volume, and an open-air playground on top of the gym. These spaces are natural and support local biodiversity.
The proposal promotes soft mobility with easy movement for all users and independent routes to the gym and multipurpose room for use outside school hours. Bicycle parking is strategically placed for convenience, and there is quick access to a nearby bus stop.
